Western Digital just released the new My Book Studio with E-Label display. One unique feature of this product is that the additional display maintains power even when the hard drive is unplugged from computer. This display allows the users to label the contents of the drive and show how much storage is left on the drive. The small e-label display uses e-paper technology which consumes little power.
Western Digital My Book Studio with E-label drives are available in 500GB, 1TB, 1.5TB, and 2TB capacities. Prices for the drives range from $149.99 to $299.99.
The external storage solution is designed to work with Mac computers and has FireWire 800 interface.

Panasonic is also joining the battle for the ultraportable notebooks now. Today Panasonic announced the launch of the Panasonic Let’s note CF-S8 and CF-N8 ultraportable notebooks. Both of the Panasonic ultraportable notebooks have 12.1″ LCD display and use the Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz processor, 2GB of RAM (Max 4GB), a 250GB hard drive, and integrated graphics.
Additionally, the Panasonic Let’s Note CF-S8 and CF-N8 notebooks will be using the new Windows 7 operation system. The only difference between the two notebooks are the S8 comes with an integrated DVD SuperMulti burner.
